New England Elderhostel serves as an intermediary between the world headquarters of Elderhostel in Boston and individual sponsoring organizations. New England Elderhostel is responsible for establishing new programs, working with existing sponsors to ensure the best programs possible and regional promotion. This is accomplished primarily through the New England Elderhostel Speakers Bureau. Hostelships are distributed through this office to assist New England residents who might not otherwise be financially able to attend Elderhostel programs.

As one can imagine, publishing an extensive catalog like the Elderhostel seasonal catalogs is a major undertaking. New England Elderhostel collects and edits all catalog copy before it is submitted for publication.

Currently New England Elderhostel supports over 80 institutions that sponsor programs at over 110 sites throughout the six New England states. Our staff is very modest, director Cynthia Gigučre and office manager Maura Byrne carry out these activities with excellent support from University of New Hampshire work study students, assistance from the New Hampshire Senior Employment program and several volunteers.
