"If the U.S. is to bounce back from recession and
mediocrity, it must get on the ball, and I do not mean
midnight basketball either," declares Russell J. Fornwalt,
a New York public relations counselor, who plans a run for
the White House as the "Republican Alternative" in New
Hampshire's Primary Election, the first in the nation, on
Tuesday, February 20, 1996.
"In the court of public opinion, we are fast becoming
a basket case," says Fornwalt. "How can we get the jump
on Japan when all the current administation has to offer
is dribs and drabs, flips and flops and coast-to-coast
photo ops at the taxpayers' expense?"
Fornwalt says that it is time for President Clinton
to stop playing games with the voters. "Midnight basket-
ball - the administration's latest crime-prevention straw;
bury it," says the Republican Alternative.
Fornwalt calls upon the electorate to get on the
ball and go forward with character not charisma, with
quality not quotas, with magnificence not mediocrity.
