WHAT ARE MY PARTICULAR QUALIFICATIONS
FOR SEEKING THE LIBERTARIAN NOMINATION
FOR PRESIDENT

Well for over 27 years I have fought the criminality of the Federal government in a variety of areas. In 1968, I testified before the Senate Committee On Banking and Currency in opposition to the Johnson Administration's successful removal of all specie backing from Federal Reserve notes - which fumed US currency into play money. My testimony at that time is recorded in the appendix of my first book, "The Biggest Con: How the Government is Fleecing You", published in 1976, and reveals that I correctly predicted the dire economic and monetary consequences that would result from such blatant, monetary folly. It was that book that also first revealed the government's failure to include its unfunded and contingent liabilities when reporting the national debt, which understated that debt by about 90%. In 1980 I wrote and published another book entitled, "The Kingdom of Maltz" which was a comic allegory on the cause of inflation, which one British reviewer called "The funniest economics book ever written." In 1982 I wrote and published, "How Anyone Can Stop Paying Income Taxes" which became a national bestseller and caused thousands of Americans to stop paying that tax. It was that book that ignited the so called "tax protest" movement and caused the Treasury Department to rewrite the Privacy Act Notice that appears in a 1040 booklet, while causing Congress to adopt a bunch of new laws designed to frustrate the public's ability to use the information contained in that book. In 1982 I wrote and published, "The Social Security Swindle: How Anyone Can Drop Out" which the venerable writer and economic critic John Chamberlain called "A devastating book" and which Professor Walter Williams called "An excellent start for developing the critical mass necessary to rebel successfully against the Social Security system." In 1985 I wrote and published The Great Income Tax Hoax which is probably the most extensive treatment of the historic development of taxation in America in print. It is the only book to my knowledge that analyzes practically every significant Supreme Court decision bearing on income taxes and to my knowledge was the first book to correctly explain such constitutional concepts as: direct v indirect taxation, apportionment, the fact that the 16th Amendment did not amend the Constitution, and the actually meaning of "income" which the Supreme Court early on ruled it to be "profits generated by corporate activity," which does not include "wages" at all. It also revealed how the Federal judiciary had deliberately - with one rare exception, the 1895 Pollack decision which declared the income tax of 1894 unconstitutional - ignored and perverted all of the constitutional restrictions on the federal governments power to tax, in order to enable the federal government to collect a number of taxes (principally estate, gift and income taxes), in violation of those restrictions. Also in that year, I wrote and published a book entitled How An Economy Grows, and Why It Doesn't - which I have been told teaches more sound economic principles in one hour (using a comic book format) then most students get by studying the subject for four years at a typical, American university.

And in 1988 while still incarcerated I published The Federal Mafia: How It Illegally Imposes and Unlawfully Collects Income Taxes which reveals how every facet of the Federal government's collection of income taxes is done in violation of law. Based upon the extensive nature of my research and the years I have spent at it, I believe I am uniquely qualified to explain to American voters how the federal government, with the help of a perfidious judiciary, has been extolling income taxes from them in violation of the Internal Revenue Code itself and the United States Constitution. And I submit that, that this information will incense and infuriate substantial numbers of Americans and cause them to vote Libertarian just because of it. The establishment press, and indeed practically the entire American media, with the sole exception of talk radio and some occasional tv exposure, has been keeping this information from reaching the public. If it were not for talk radio, I doubt whether I would have sold a book over the last few years. But with me as the Libertarian presidential candidate this message will get through, despite the past unwillingness of the establishment press to report it. Undoubtedly, factors in shaping the media's attitude on this subject, have been fear of the IRS itself, and an unwillingness to believe that such incredible information can be true!

In addition, since I have litigated more than a dozen cases in Federal Court myself I can say in deadly seriousness that if the American public really knew what was going on, practically every Federal judge in the country would be behind bars. And if that sounds needlessly irresponsible and inflammatory, then please explain how the IRS can seize, with impunity, citizen's property in payment of income taxes, when no law passed by Congress allows them to do so, and how can Americans be sent to prison for committing crimes which do not appear in any statute? If libertarians are really serious about downsizing the federal establishment, why should we be reluctant About exposing the most powerful and insidious element of that establishment, the federal judiciary.

Because of my long struggle in the area of the federal income tax, I will be able to draw votes from the vast number of Americans, now between 10 and 15 million Americans who have stopped filing income tax returns altogether, and from many others who would like to stop filing but who are fearful of doing so. In addition, because of my efforts to expose the governments illegal collection of income taxes. I would even get support from certain fundamental Christian groups who have a keen interest in this issue but who, for various reasons, might not generally support a Libertarian candidate for president. And sad to say a disproportionate number of my co-religionists, contrary to their own economic self-interest and all logic, have voted over the last 60 years for candidates that promised to deliver more government rather than less. However, being Jewish, I understand the Jewish psyche and understand the religious, social, historic and psychological forces that have illogically lead Jews to disproportionately support Democratic candidates. And hopefully my ability to explain to them the folly and ludicrousness of this voting pattern will I enable me to generate additional Libertarian votes in another area where they otherwise might not have been Forthcoming. The article that appeared about me in the "National Jewish Post & Opinion" was my initial salvo in this direction.
