Engaged in the practice of law with own firm in Maryville,
Tennessee, since graduating from Law College in 1954,Admitted to
practice before the United States Supreme Court and all state and
federal courts and the Court of Military Appeals.
He is a Republican and was elected to the Tennessee Constitutional
Convention of 1959 and was the Republican Nominee for Governor of
Tennessee in 1962. He has served as Chairman of the State Primary
Election Board for Blount County Primary Election Commission and
as President of the Republican Club. He has also served at various
times as Special General Sessions Judge.
He is conservative in politics and has fought against usury laws
and the international banks forced them out of business for a
short time in Tennessee by personally taking then to the Supreme
Court of Tennessee and a victory which lasted until they forced a
constitutional convention by a timid legislature and submitted it
to the people by special and unusual election held in the dead of
winter. He is also opposed to the Federal Reserve System and the
practices of the Internal Revenue Service. He has campaigned in
many local elections in the effort to inform the people.
His Military Service include World War II, Korean War and
Reserve Duty and has the rank of Colonel. His hobbies include
raising horses, travel, photography and he enjoys swimming and
basketball.
He is a life long member of Miller's Cove Baptist Church where
he serves as Deacon, Adult Teacher and Chairman of the Finance
Committee.
