    WHY AMERICA NEEDS BOB DORNAN!

As a citizen of the single greatest nation in the history of mankind, I present myself as a candidate for President of the United States, not to fulfill any perverse sense of self aggrandizement, but to stand before you as a simple patriot who views America teetering on the verge of moral collapse. I offer myself as the clear choice for leading this nation out of the morass of decay.

I am reminded of the eloquent words of my personal friend and hero, the father of the modern Republican Party and our 40th President, Ronald Reagan: "The job is ours and the job must be done. If not by us, who? If not now, when?"

These words resonate my own battle cry: "Faith, Family, Freedom." Without faith, what do we as a people possess? Family is the foundation that holds a virtuous people together. Freedom - not just the freedom of our country; we must extend democracy and freedom and virtue wherever we go as a nation, and as a people, we must restore the American ideals and dreams of our founding fathers. I therefore place myself within the arena of what George Washington called his theater of action. I stand before you as the most compassionate conservative and the best candidate in this field of honor.

Like Jefferson, I base my political philosophy on the assumption that if politics is compromise, than our government has grown far beyond its proper boundaries. The problem with our nation's economy is that government spends, taxes, and regulates too much. The surest way to destroy our nation's economy is to increase taxes.

Like Washington, I believe that to prepare for war is the most effective means of preparing for peace. As a former US Air Force fighter pilot, I resolutely believe in a strong national defense, and am appalled at the Clinton Administration's attempts at dislodging our military forces. US combat forces must never be placed under the command of foreign officers, and I personally feel that homosexuality is incompatible with military service.

Like Roosevelt, I am struck by the epidemic of lawlessness that is spreading like a cancer throughout our country. As the epidemic of crime spreads within our cities and schools, the community must join in our quarantine to protect the health of our citiznes against the spread of this deadly disease. All across America, citizens feel isolated from the spread of lawlessness. What a horrible way to live. This is not domestic tranquillity as decreed by our founding fathers. The best way to deal with criminals is swift and certain punishment -- judicial justice placing violent criminals behind bars.

Finally, like Abraham Lincoln, we cannot escape the vicissitudes of history. What happens in this election will be remembered far beyond, and in spite of ourselves. No personal significance or insignificance can spare any of us Republican candidates for the office of President of the United States. The fervent trial for which we pass will distinguish us with honor or dishonor, yet we must prevail in this forthcoming battle.

The immoral decay brought about by the current occupant of the White House has led us down the path of moral and spiritual degradation. Americans must take a position in this cultural meltdown and stand with me to lead, follow me in this great adventure, or get out of the way and allow us to alter America's destiny.

Join me in this noble battle to restore virtue to American society. You cannot have liberty without virtue, and you cannot have virtue unless the people are truly free to make a choice.
