Dole's Agenda: TV Ad

The following ad ran in New Hampshire on February 6, 1996 on WMUR News Channel 9. Length of Ad is 30 seconds.

[Bob Dole, head and shoulders, speaking begins.  White printed 
graphic on bottom of screen, "PAID FOR BY DOLE FOR PRESIDENT, 
INC."]
"The American people want change, not, not little change.  They
want fundamental change."

[White flash covers the screen.  Male narration begins.  Winter scene 
appears.  Dole walking with a man in a red jacket by the big wheel of 
a truck.]
"Bob Dole's agenda will change America."

[Cut to black background.  White printed graphic, "THE DOLE 
AGENDA:" is across the top of screen.  A box that covers more than a 
quarter of the top right corner presents various scenes over the 
course of the ad.  The first scene is a white man wearing a red work 
shirt in a hard hat standing and a black man with a white headband 
walking in front of him.  The black printed graphic in a white box, "1." 
and the white printed graphic, "Welfare Reform That Puts People to 
Work." appear on bottom of the screen.]
"True welfare reform . . ."

[Next scene in box is Dole shaking hands with a white man in a suit 
and hard hat and a white man in shirt, tie and hard hat.  Another 
white man with hard hat comes in.]
". . . that puts people to work."

[Next scene in box is a police officer.  Camera closes in on him.  The 
graphic on the bottom of the screen changes to "2.  Abolish Parole For 
Violent Criminals." in the same format.]
"Abolish parole . . ."

[Next scene in box is a black and white scene of one pair of hands 
handcuffing another pair of hands.  Half way through duration of the 
scene, bottom printed graphic fades to "3.  Mandatory Sentences For 
Committing A Crime With A Gun." in the same format.]
". . . for violent criminals.  Mandatory . . ."

[Next scene in box is a man in an army camouflage uniform with a 
dark figure in front of him. ]
". . . sentences for those that . . ."

[Next scene in box is a hand gun on a table next to a zip lock bag.  
Bottom printed graphic fades.]
". . . commit a crime with a gun."

[The graphic on the bottom of the screen changes to "4. Appoint 
Conservative Judges." in the same format appears.  Camera moves 
from gun to a blur.]
"Appoint conservative judges who'll end . . ."

[Next scene in box is Dole standing with a man in a baseball cap 
holding a mug.  The next scene immediately follows.  Next scene in 
box is Dole and Elizabeth Dole in front of a crowd of Dole supporters.  
Someone is holding a "Dole for President" sign.]

[Next scene in box is a quick perusal of the crowd.  The graphic on 
the bottom of the screen changes to "5.  Balanced Budget That Cuts 
Spending and Taxes."  The next scene immediately follows.  Next 
scene in box is Dole walking in front of Dole supporters with signs.  
Dole waves to people and Elizabeth Dole shows up walking next to
