Lackstrom to Head Hamel Center
for the Management of Technology
and Innovation
Warren
C. Lackstrom has been named director of the Whittemore Schools Hamel
Center for the Management of Technology and Innovation. Established last
year with a $7 million gift from Dana A. and Kathryn P. Hamel, the center
will provide interdisciplinary management and technology programs for
students and professionals, and provide educational and technical assistance
to individuals and companies, enabling them to manage and commercialize
emerging technologies. Lackstrom also will help create and manage a new,
interdisciplinary graduate degree of management and technology and related
certificate programs at the Whittemore School.
Lackstrom has held executive and senior level management positions in
commercial, university, non-profit research, and consulting organizations,
many of which included responsibility for the development and commercialization
of technologies and products. He was most recently a vice president at
Kendall Strategies Inc., a health care consulting firm. Lackstrom has
also held senior financial and administrative posts at Yale University
School of Medicine and the National Bureau of Economic Research, Inc.
He holds a B.B.A. in Economics from Upsala College and an M.B.A. from
Boston University Graduate School of Business.
