ATTENDANCE:
It is important that all employees report to work on time for each scheduled shift. We all depend on each other to report to work each shift. Being short-staffed hurts our overall morale, productivity and quality.
Excessive absences or tardiness are subject to review. Employees are required to call their immediate supervisor if they plan to be absent or late for any shift. In all cases, it is expected that you will call prior to start of your shift. We ask that you call immediately as soon as you become aware that you will be absent or tardy.
REPORTING ABSENCES:
Illness: You are required to personally notify your supervisor at least 3 hours prior to your scheduled shift due to illness (if you are scheduled to work early in the morning- you should call the night before prior to 10:00pm). If you are out sick for 3 or more consecutive shifts, you may be required to provide your supervisor with signed medical documentation of your illness.
Emergencies: In the case of unforeseen emergencies (family emergency, bereavement, accidents, etc.) please make every attempt to call prior the start of your shift (or at least as soon as possible) to let your supervisor know you will not be in and your expected return date.
All Other Absences: If you are unable to fulfill your scheduled shift, you are responsible for finding your own replacement; otherwise, you are required to report to work as scheduled. Your supervisor, in writing, must approve all schedule changes.
Failure to notify your supervisor of any absence will be considered a “no show”.
“No shows” will be considered voluntary resignation of employment.
REQUESTS FOR TIME OFF:
Requests for time off must be made prior to the date(s) requesting off. Requests will be approved or denied based on business operational needs. No employee may just assume they have their requested time off.
*Please see your supervisor for specific departmental policies on requesting time off in your area.
SCHEDULING:
You may be requested to complete an Availability Sheet listing the desired number of shifts and times you are available to work. Your hours will be scheduled on a weekly basis according to business demands. The scheduled workweek begins on Saturday and through the following Friday. Work schedules are posted in designated areas within your department. Every employee is responsible for getting, knowing and following his or her own schedule. You may not call in to receive your schedule. Your supervisor, in writing, must approve all schedule changes.
