Sustainability: From Vision to Practice

Geocommons Reunion

May 26 - 29, 2000

Sirius Community, Shutesbury, MA

Sustainability: From Vision to Practice

The theme of the first ever Geocommons reunion has come out of our years of traveling to communities in the world discovering the various practices of sustainability and the people who are engaging in them. Are you, the Geo alum, using any of these practices in your own life? Let's meet, check-in, share of our lives, and synergize our visions.

Sirius Community in western Massachusetts is the site for this gathering. The Geocommons College Program has now been transferred from Gaia Education Outreach, to the new consortium, called Living Routes, started by Daniel and others affilitated with the Global Ecovillage Network. Its home base rests at the Sirius Community. We have re-named the program Geo Communities Semester and it is one of many programs under the Living Routes, Inc. umbrella. Daniel will be most excited to share the vision at the reunion.

The Friday through Monday gathering at Sirius is sliding scale fee - $60-80. If you can stay only for Sat. and Sunday, $50-70. We will be eating with the Sirius Community that weekend, helping to cook and clean up. It is important that we get a registration from you so we know what to plan for in terms of food and accommodations. Bring sleeping bags and pads.
