Overview
The Center for the Study of Community (CSC) sponsors research, writing, and educational programming to promote greater understanding of community and social change. The CSC is a division of Strawbery Banke Museum working in collaboration with University of New Hampshire faculty.
Work at the CSC revolves around a particular biannual theme. During its first two years (2004-2005), the CSC's work focused on issues specifically related to migration and community. As part of the "Newcomers, Neighbors, and Networks" initiative, scholarship at the CSC examined the ways that immigrants and refugees join a community, interact with people who already live there, and maintain long distance ties to people living around the globe.
