OUR CONCEPT

Our concept, or mission statement, changes a bit each year to fit the requirements of SAFSI.
As of right now, our concept is this:

Cool-Aid is the UNH student-run helpline whose main purpose is to provide an unbiased and unprejudiced ear for all UNH students and community. Cool-Aid provides help in three main ways:
1. The helpline is available from 5pm-midnight, 7 days a week during the UNH academic year. The helpline provides an opportunity for callers to discuss a variety of issues and concerns including, but not limited to, academic stress, roommate troubles, suicide, depression, rape, alcohol, drugs, eating concerns, sex, and relationships. Cool-Aid members can also give callers referrals and numbers to professional services to further help the caller.
2. A 24-hour tapeline is available for additional information on all of the above listed topics, as well as outside of Cool-Aid's operating hours.
3. Cool-Aid has a website that provides current information about the organization, as well as links to other Internet resources.
Membership in Cool-Aid is on a volunteer basis and is open to any full-time, matriculated, UNH undergraduate student who completes the training process.
All calls to Cool-Aid are kept strictly confidential within the organization.
