October 29

1. Attendance: Krissy, Polly, Sean, Kendra, Sarah S, Sara D, Joe, Amy, Mercy
2. Paw Points - Krissy explained what they were to be used for, and asked everyone to update their page.
3. SAA/SF District 1 Conference
February 26-28, 1999
Bryant College
Smithfield, RI

A quick description of last years Conference was given, and then a poll was taken to see who was interested in attending this years. Everyone attending was enthusiastic. If anyone who did not attend the meeting would like to go, please e-mail Krissy.
3. Boston Trips - Michelle Niese came in and explained the program to us and how it would fit into our mission statement. She suggested that we contact Mel Bobick to discuss plans for taking over the program next year. If we are to do this, however, we need to start the ball rolling right away so that we can budget for a mailing. We need someone to chair this program who will be here next year. If you are interested please email the ambassador account.
4. Cow Chip Bingo - Thank you letters have been completed and sent out. (Thank you Mercy) Polly will contact Tom Fairchild and get a check out to the Dairy Club for their share of the profits.
5. Yearbook - we have been notified that we will be in the yearbook this year. We don't have a date yet, but Krissy will let us know as soon as they contact her.
6. Web Page - we need someone to take over the web page for next year. Krissy is willing to teach someone how to make and update pages, but we need someone to volunteer soon to allow enough time. If you are interested, please let Krissy know.
7. Operation Overcoat - chairperson Sarah Stearns
Sara updated us on the progress of the program. She said she had called St. Thomas Moore to get ideas on who we should do the drive for this year. She has a list, and will go through it to determine which ones need the clothes the most. Sara D. said that she would help call the organizations. Sarah brought up the question of where we want to put boxes this year. It was suggested that we forget the MUB and just put boxes in the Gables, the Alumni Center, the Churches, and maybe the DMP. Sarah will have more definite information for the next meeting so that we can start the advertising. We will need to reserve a showcase in the MUB.
8. Search and Select - co chairs Joe Ashour & Kendra Krauss
Joe and Kendra read off the list of questions that they had come up with for the new S&S application. A few suggestions were made including a few good ones from Amy. A list of all the questions will be emailed to everyone shortly. As for a moto, the only one we could think of was:

"Student 4 years, Alumni 4 life"

Joe gave a quick outline of what needed to be done and emphasized that he and Kendra would need everyones help to do it. Krissy gave Joe and Kendra a binder to keep all the S&S info in, and asked that they keep careful records of everything that they do. It was determined that we would have a showcase with information in the MUB. Joe and Kendra will reserve it, we just need some people to design it. Krissy volunteered to help, but would like someone to work with. Finally, Krissy also suggested that we come up with a brochure with information about the ambassadors to hand out with applications. We will talk more about the progress of this program next week.
AS ALWAYS, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, OR CORRECTIONS PLEASE EMAIL KRISSY AT THE ADDRESS BELOW. SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEEK!
